There isn’t a morning where coffee and I don’t see eye-to-eye, except maybe a bad cup of brew. My husband and I look forward to our morning cup; unfortunately for him, I get the majority vote because I am a coffee drinker with a few fancy coffee’s thrown in and he is an espresso drinker. Now with the Breville Duo-Temp™ Pro Coffee Espresso Maker, Cory and I can have the best of both coffee lover worlds and create a little magic everyday.
What I love about holiday entertaining is gathering around the dining table over good food, stories told, laughter and happiness surrounding everyone and dessert to wrap it all up. We always offer our guests a coffee with their dessert and now we’re adding espresso, cappuccino’s and latte’s to the list. There is no better way to end a meal than a sweet dessert and a complimentary brew.
Breville Duo-Temp™ Pro Coffee Espresso Maker – Ease of Use
The Breville Duo-Temp™ Pro Coffee Espresso Maker comes with style in mind, a sleek stainless steel design with a ground precision trimming tool, 4 cups and strainer size inserts a tamper and a milk frothing jug. The machine itself is actually very easy to use:
- Fill the water tank and select the size of cup you want to brew, 1-2 cups. The strainer size can be chosen to either 1 or 2 strainers, dependant upon the size of the coffee grounds; the finer the ground the more straining is needed for the ultimate cup.
- Fill the grounds in the portafiller, using the tamper to press the grounds tight into the cup and then use the scraper to scrape off the excess. Use the tamper again to ensure a tight pack before locking in place on the machine.
- With a cup in place, turn on the power with the dial set to the middle. Once the machine has warmed up, turn the dial to the left to brew a cup size of your choice. Turn the dial back to the middle when you’ve achieved the amount of coffee that achieves the strength of taste you are looking for or let it run until the cup fills, typically 3/4 full.
- Drink black or dress up your freshly brewed coffee with cream and sugar or use the next step to make yourself a latte.
Breville Duo-Temp™ Pro Coffee Espresso Maker – Frother
The milk frother tastes a little practice to get the right amount of froth consistency but with the 360 degree wand, frothing just got easier. I find frothing your milk makes a big difference in the flavour of the coffee over regular cream. To use, you simply turn the dial to the right and after the machine is warmed up, you can select the steam to froth your milk or hot water for Americano’s.
I’m trying to convince my husband to master the fancy designs on the top of the coffee to make his wife happy but mark my words, he will achieve this. These things take time. Smirk.
