My #UBP11 Party Post – Who Am I?

My life is a little crazy, but what moms isn’t?  I have 4 kids, Mr. Man – 12, Miss Priss – 10, Squeakers – 9 and Baby Girl – 10 months. You can read more about them here. The three older kids are from my first marriage; their bio-dad and I share custody and although it has been a rocky road full of challenges and will continue to be, we work hard at compromising and co-parenting for the sake of the children. 

A year ago I was laid off from my career in emergency services of 13 years.  Since then I have loved staying home with my children. I drive the children to and from their school 8 times per day which is not easy considering baby girl is hauled along each timel; I am full of Mommy Guilt to say the least.  My husband and I are building our dream home from the ground up ourselves; once we move to the farm it will be even more difficult to accommodate the current school and extra-curricular activities (hockey, dance, soccer, baseball and hockey camp) that the 3 children are involved in but we are in discussions with their bio-dad about changing schools to accommodate the bus transportation from the farm and minimize the hectic schedule. 

In the meantime, I blog.  My blog is my outlet for all things family.  We love food and healthy eating, hence the name of this blog (I have 4 Lil Piglets) and the reason for The Kids Cook Monday posts I try to take part in every week.  Myself, I like to stay busy and have my hands in a little of everything; I’d hate to be bored! 😉  I love baking, my current obsessions are French Macarons and cookie pops which I aim to post soon.  Beyond baking, I dabble in sewing, stamping of course and I enjoy reading immensely.  Once the snow finally leaves us, god forbid it stays much longer, I plan on planting a large garden at the farm.  There is nothing better than fresh garden vegetables!  I enjoy playing video games on occasion, it is my guilty childish pleasure but one trait my 12 year old loves about me.  In the summer I enjoy water-skiing although to be honest, I have not done this in a couple years now because of Baby Girl but I hope to start again this summer.  Another love of mine is riding dirt bikes with my eldest two kids, another trait my 12 year old son bonds with me over.  I love coffee after a lengthy night chatting with #zombiemoms, a glass of wine with a hot bath and a night alone with the Hubs when he isn’t working on the house AND can stay awake.
