Mars Bar Rice Krispies Squares

Mars Bar Rice Krispies Squares is a favourite of my Mother-in-Laws, one that is super easy and that everyone loves.  I mean it has chocolate bars in it; need I say more?! 🙂

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter or margarine

4 Mars Bars

3 cups Rice Krispies

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 cup chocolate chips

Directions
Melt the Mars bars and butter or margarine in a large pot on low to medium heat on the stove, stir to be sure it doesn’t burn to the bottom.  Add in the Rice Krispies and mix thoroughly to coat evenly.  Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×9 pan, pressing down to pack.
Topping:  Melt the chocolate chips and butter on low to medium heat in a sauce pan, stirring to ensure no burning to the pot.  Pour the melted topping evenly over the top of the pressed Rice Krispies mixture.  Cool in the fridge before attempting to slice into squares.

  10. Just made these for the office party tomorrow AGAIN…I made them back in the spring and when we decided to have an office potluck party I was told what I was bringing my Mars Bars Rice Krispie squares…I did two versions – a milk chocolate Mars bars with milk chocolate chip ganoche on top and the dark chocolate mars bars with dark chocolate chip ganoche on the top then garnished with crushed peppermint candy canes…I just add in a few extra marshmallows for extra stickiness….these are just the best!!!!!1
