Summer Heat Chicken Burger Recipe #BreakUpWithGroundBeef
Last week I co-hosted the #BreakUpWithGroundBeef Twitter Party with a few fellow bloggers where Maple Leaf Prime brought on Chef Bob to talk about the many ways you can spread the love to turkey and chicken. I loved the challenge so much that my friend Sober Julie and I decided to have a challenge of our own, a recipe cook-off. To celebrate, we are giving away $50 in Maple Leaf Prime product coupons.
The Challenge
Take the original Maple Leaf Prime Nacho Chicken Burgers recipe and remake it into another version. Of course there is no prize for us but a little friendly competition never hurt. Make sure you enter the giveaway at the bottom for your chance to win $50 in coupons.
My Recipe vs Sober Julie’s
Neither of us have been privy to the other recipe making each quite unique. I’m eager to see what Julie has come up with; knowing Julie it will be something pleasing to the eye as well as full of flavour. Immediately upon taking the challenge I had the use of pineapple set in mind, pineapple and chicken already go well together in other recipes but this is a burger. Burgers are meant to have a little more bite and what better to pair with the sweetness of the pineapple than a little heat. I made this Grilled Corn Avocado Salsa to put on top of my burger and add a flavour burst but you can keep it as a side appetizer, if you prefer. Be prepared for a messy meal if you keep it on the burger; for me, a messy burger is just right.
In the burger you will seek your heat from the jalapeño and seasoning and once this 3 cheese burger hits your mouth with toppings of juicy mushrooms, pineapple and spinach it will melt together in your mouth. Take a look through my recipe and let me know which recipe you think you’d prefer, mine or Sober Julie’s. Don’t worry, you won’t hurt our feelings.
