Top Google Nexus 7 Tablet Features

Being in Social Media community management  it’s a given that I love technology. I am always seeking out the newest and the best tools to maximize my time but I don’t like the hefty price tag that comes along with some.  I definitely cannot go without my smartphone or my laptop but there are some things that either aren’t very convenient for; portability is always a factor. For the past couple weeks I have been enjoying the Google Nexus 7 Tablet from Staples, unlike my other android tablet the Google nexus 7 offers me access to all of my Google apps at the touch of a finger.

I don’t consider myself a food connoisseur, rather a foodie in my own right. Hubs and I love to create new versions of recipes and scour cookbooks and the internet searching for something different to please our guests with. I have a preference for baking delectable desserts where Hubs likes to recreate entree’s that we already know and love.  With the easy set-up the Google Nexus 7 offers, I was quickly working my way through the different apps already installed and sought out the app store where I happily found several recipe applications. Nothing can replace a good cookbook but I appreciate having the ability to find an endless supply of unique recipes with a tablet that doesn’t take up much counter space. This tablet is small in size and lightweight enough to pop it into my purse for use anywhere, perfect to take along to keep my toddler busy playing her preschool game apps while I grab my ingredients at the grocery store.

Movies are a bonus pastime with our family, something we can enjoy together. We don’t always agree on what to watch; with a large family the older kids often want to watch something else.  The Nexus 7 gives them the ability to rent a new release movie to watch anywhere in the house at a regular rental fee.  The Google Play App Store offers an app for literally anything you can imagine.  It wasn’t long before I had all my social media apps installed and sending me notifications to keep me at the front of my incoming messages.

Google products are what I use daily whether for my family, for farm details or for my blog.  Upon start-up, I was impressed to find how quick the tablet would be up and running with my programs installed.  I simply had to input my Google account email and password and I immediately had access to all of the Google products I use every day, GMail, Google+, YouTube and my Calendar are the main ones I use daily. The ability to keep up on current events in the news or subscribe to virtual versions of magazines or books was an important revelation; in the mornings I try to catch up on local, national and world on-goings and before bed I love to read a good book to get my mind off the busy day. This tablet is easy to use, loads quickly and has more than enough options for anyone’s usage.

When searching for a new device I look for ease of use, easy setup and sync-ability between other devices either through apps or Bluetooth. The Google Nexus 7 Tablet has all of these requirements and many other functions to add to my must-have list.  If you’re on the look out for a new tablet, the Google Nexus 7 Tablet has everything the average or advanced user might be looking for at an reasonable price.

  1. Honestly, you are tempting me. I really do need to get a tablet. My laptop is so heavy and my smartphone isn’t smart enough 😉 How much does this retail for? Would love to learn more…

  2. I have heard a lot of positive reviews on the Nexus! It makes me want one!!!

  3. Love that it’s on the android platform. Since I have an android phone I would prefer something I’m used to.

  4. I Just got a new tablet for Xmas and now my husband is on a search for his own. He’s looking at this very one. It would be nice if he’d just make the jump and by the Nexus so I can have mine all to myself! 🙂

  5. It’s all about the Apps – looks like this one has lots of great apps and easy to use too.
    Thanks for the great review.

  6. My hubby and daughter love their tablets – this one looks like a great choice with lots of apps. I would look for easy to use and like that you’ve broken it down for readers.

  10. Ooh, those kitchen apps look right up my alley! I currently bring up recipes on my laptop, but it’s quite cumbersome. A tablet would definitely make things easier! (One of these days I’ll crawl out of the stone age and buy one. 😉

  11. the kitchen apps look so great! I love searching for new recipes. I tend to dig out my cookbooks and flip through them – but when cooking I don’t have the room to keep the book on the counter so have to run back to the table

  12. Thanks for writing this up, I knew nothing about the Nexus 7! We have the Apple iPad 2, so I had never looked into Nexus as an option.
