3 Egg Recipes for Summer Entertaining
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting someone I have admired from afar for a very long time, Chef Lynn Crawford, at the #SummerSideUp event in Toronto. I’m a faithful viewer of her TV shows and follow on her social channels to witness so many delicious recipes; I couldn’t be more egg-cited (pun intended) about the focus on eggs.
I joined the #SummerSideUp event at Chef Lynn’s restaurant, Ruby Watchco, hosted by Egg Farmers of Canada. The atmosphere was very fitting of a farm community table meal and this farm girl felt right at home.
Sitting around a harvest style table among new and old friends, passing around good food while engaging in great conversation is what community is all about. Whether you’re entertaining indoors or in the backyard, it really comes down to eggs. Eggs are packed with protein and vitamins, a healthy superfood, but beyond that, every recipe with a lasting memory is made with eggs.
My favourite recipes, like banana loaf slathered in butter still warm from the oven or crepes made with freshly picked raspberries from my grandmas backyard, are memories burned into my brain on all sensory levels. I still remember my grandma standing at her kitchen stove pouring crepe batter into her cast iron pan, the smell of the batter hitting the heated oil in the pan, the smile on my grandmothers face when she placed the plate in front of me and the flavour bursting in my mouth as a closed my eyes to take it all in.
Think about it; there is no better memory than that of an egg-filled memory. The #SummerSideUp event had those memories flooding back for me and for good reason. With all this great food made by Chef Lynn and her team it was easy to feel right at home.

Upon arrival I was presented with a Grapefruit and Gin Spritzer, made with an egg white froth, a refreshing summer drink perfect for a summer event. We had the pleasure of enjoying good company while we were served 3 courses, all equally delicious.
As gorgeously presentable as these recipes look; they are easily replicated at home and I can promise you, your guests for your next backyard barbecue will be impressed.
If you like these recipes, I’d love if you’d pin them for later on Pinterest or follow along for other great recipes on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
