Closed, Winner Selected – Bubble talk and Rubik’s Cube Slider Game Review & Giveaway

Congratulations to winner/comment #17!!!

I was fortunate to receive two new games for review and giveaway, the Rubik’s Slide and the Bubble Talk board game.  My son absolutely adores the Rubik’s Slide; it’s a nice alternative to the original cube with the light up color blocks making the handheld game more interactive.  We had the opportunity to play the Bubble Talk game as a family, the 3 kids ages 12, 9 & 8 had a great time.  My husband and I enjoyed watching the kids laugh until tears came to their eyes.  The idea of the game is to match a funny saying to a picture and the funniest saying for the picture wins (this is chosen by the judge, one of the players).  Some of the sayings that the kids matched with the picture were hilarious; it was great to see them get so involved with the game, to see what they thought was funny and to see them enjoy themselves so much.  We have played this game more than a few times since and each time we have nothing but fun; I would highly recommend these games to anyone looking for something new and different.  With all the video games available to children, it was a breath of fresh air to get back to the basics of family entertainment.

Rubik’s Cube Slide
Ages 8 and up; MSRP: $19.99; Available at major & specialty retailers nationwide, including Wal-Mart, Target, Toys “R” Us, K-Mart, JCPenny beginning fall 2010.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube, Techno Source introduces Rubik’s Slide™, the new electronic puzzle game that anyone can play and no one can put down. Rubik’s Slide combines the simplicity and fun of casual games with fast-paced, brain-busting cubing. Players begin each puzzle by checking the goal pattern and then sliding the lights into the correct pattern by twisting and shifting the top panel. (Much like the slide or “fifteen” puzzles from years ago). Once the puzzle is solved, Rubik’s Slide will advance to the next puzzle. Featuring more than 10,000 puzzles, Rubik’s Slide includes two different types of play. Players can see how many puzzles they can solve in Free Play mode or race against the clock to complete a series of 10 puzzles before time runs out in Lightning Round. Features multiple levels of difficulty, with easy, medium and hard puzzles built-in, vibrant light and sound effects, adjustable volume control, and high score memory. Batteries are included.

Bubble Talk Board Game

Ages 8 and up; MSRP: $19.99; Available beginning now at specialty retailers nationwide, including Learning Express and Barnes & Noble. Online at Amazon.com, Target.com, ToysRUs.com and Calendars.com

Bubble Talk is a hilarious, fast-paced tabletop board game that challenges players to match funny captions with even funnier pictures. Easy to play and fun for the whole family, Bubble Talk begins when each player draws seven random caption cards. The judge for that round draws a picture card and players must quickly try to match the funniest caption they have to the picture. The player who makes the judge laugh the most wins that round! Perfect for a small group of three or as many as eight players, each game includes 150 funny pictures (75 double-sided 4”x 6” cards) and 300 hilarious caption cards that provide for hours upon hours of game play. Families can even customize the game play to their liking: play for a few minutes or several hours, substitute personal photos or write-in captions. Plus, like some of the best family movies, it has a humor that works for kids and adults alike.
