Build Strong Role Models with @DoveCanada

When I was a young girl growing up I always felt awkward in my body. I never really fit in with social groups per-say; I considered myself my own person unlike anyone else but kids can be cruel and as a result my self-esteem suffered.  As I grew, I found my place and thrived but remember how awful that felt to question myself based on other influences.  Having my own daughters now, it’s painful to see my eldest go through her moments of questioning.  Encouraging her to see her own beauty and value as a person in this world is important to her self-esteem.

Dove® self-esteem education has already reached over 8 million girls across the world and continue to champion girls to have a strong relationship with beauty.  This year Dove® continues to encourage girls to feel good about themselves with the Camp In Dove® Role Models weekend on October 19-21, 2012.  Dove® knows the impact strong role models can have on girls today, that is why they have chosen 7 remarkable women to spotlight, each representing a different scenario for girls to relate to.

This year, Dove® is working with women like you to host a camp in your own community.  Why not speak to a girl in your life today who could use your guidance and encouragement to live to her full potential.  Gather some local moms and community role model women for a Camp In experience and help these girls in the process.  Try an after school or evening camp or even a sleepover camp and allow Dove® to help you plan with activity ideas, invitations and inspirational videos like the one above.
