Limeapple Activewear for Active Girls
This year my youngest daughter, Caibre, decided she wanted to try cheerleading. We entered her into a summer cheer camp to gauge interest and discovered she had a new love for sport. I quickly went on the hunt for quality activewear for girls and discovered Limeapple, colourful, quality fabric and true-to-size athletic-wear for babies to tweens.
To be honest, it was hard to choose a few outfits. I wanted pieces that could mix and match with other outfits; what I found was almost all did. The first outfit that caught my eye was the cross-over top and ruffle mini shorts from the Color Rhythmics collection. Mini shorts are ideal for cheerleading to allow movement but I was worried the fit would allow gaping in the leg or chest area. I had ordered a size larger than she normally wears but was pleasantly surprised the material was fitted true-to-size with modest coverage.
Features I love about Limeapple Activewear
- The colours were bright and don’t fade after washing
- Shorts have a hidden pocket with name tag
- Secured seams
- Fabric stretches to form fit
- Tagless/scratch-free labeling
- Several designs/collections to choose from
The next outfit, I couldn’t help but adore and secretly wish it was in adult size, was the Cuddle Bubble Hoodie in Turquoise and the Bubble pant in black. I had ordered up a size in the pant and realized I should have kept to her regular size because they were just a bit too big but she grows like a weed so I have no doubt she will fit these soon enough. Both were super snuggly, warm and soft but without the bulky material you usually find in warm clothing. The hoodie also had, MUCH loved, thumb holes and zipped up slightly above the neckline, making this her favourite hoodie of all time. Every little girl should have at least one of these in her closet, or one in every colour.
I couldn’t decide which of these outfits was my favourite because I liked them for different reasons. My daughter loves them both and wears them an equal number of cheerleading practices. This ruffle tank from the Your Song collection fits perfectly. I love that it has a piece of foam in the upper top; it keeps the top smooth and formed to fit.
For a more neutral short, I chose the Sporty Shorts. I absolutely loved the ruffle shorts from above, there are more prints to choose from on the site, but I specifically chose these plain shorts in black to mix and match and because I wanted a smoother short for those colder days under her fitted leggings.
If you aren’t a fan of overly vibrant colours, Limeapple has a lot of black pieces to choose from.
From cheerleading summer camp where she first learned this back walkover (in the video below) to now where she can do a handstand on her own, Caibre has learned a lot. Last night she came home from cheer practice with an award for the most stretch time on her team; the house was literally filled with squeals and I couldn’t help but be proud of her commitment.
The biggest feature for me with activewear is the test of movement. Limeapple was tested on several occasions and proven to stay in place during Caibre’s stretching, walkovers, handstands and cheer routine. I absolutely love the quality of Limeapple activewear and highly recommend it to those of you looking for quality. I have washed these outfits numerous times and have seen no wear or fading on the seams or fabric; that’s impressive.
