New Blog Design Poll
It’s official, This Lil Piglet has been transferred from Blogger to WordPress. I’d love to hear what you think of the new design; please take this quick poll to let me know. If you don’t like the new design or think there could be improvements, please comment below and let me know how I can make your experience better.
A couple things to note:
- There are a few things that are still being worked out. For example,
the GFC widget is having issues which I hope to fix today if not soon.Secondly, the feed was not working properly and that is why you were not getting updates. I believe this is now fixed and you should be seeing emails of posts updates once again. - There is a completely new menu which is, in my opinion, much more stream line and clean looking. Simply hover over one of the menu items such as “About” and a sub-menu will drop-down. Hover over the selection you are looking to read more about and if there is another sub-domain it will appear on the side of that menu. Click on the option and you will be directed to that page or list of posts, depending on your selection. Please see the picture below to see what I mean. This is where you will find all my Current Giveaways that are running.
- There is a NEW Events Newsletter. The regular email subscription will only send you post updates of the blog (whenever there are new posts added to the blog. If there is more than one post added in one day, all posts are combined into one email. If there are no new posts, you will not receive an email.) The Events Newsletter will only be sent out when there are New blog events added or if there are updates to be sent out regarding these events. This is usually on a monthly or bi-weekly basis. This Newsletter will be your first notice of any special events that Bloggers might want to participate in such as The Social Picnic Event or
an exciting event that I will be posting about very soonThe Ultimate Gamer Event. This new event will be limited to 50 bloggers and will be one you will not want to miss….this is all I will reveal for now butif you want to be the first to be notified, you will have to subscribe to the Events Newsletter. You can click this link to subscribe or click the link located below the regular email subscription entry box, as you see in the picture below. I agree, the color of font is hard to see and I will be looking into changing it but until then, this is how you can subscribe.
- A couple of other added bonuses: If you scroll down, you will see a StumbleUpon box and another content widget with a trio of articles you might be interested in. I’ve cut and pasted the screen shots into one so you can see what I mean in the picture below. These are just an added content bonus; if you see something you like there, just click through for a read but I’d love if you’d come back here afterwards.
- Have you checked out the This Lil Piglet Community yet? Just click the frog icon (top right side of the menu or click the image below) and you will be able to join. It’s free of course and a great place to socialize, list your giveaway’s and more. If you’d like to see something specific there, please let me know. 🙂
Love your new look!! I am thinking of switching did you do it yourself or hire someone to make the switch! Love your look too!!
Thanks. I’ve moved some things around to get the effect but the template, header, divider and signature graphics were done by April Showers Blog Design. I love the new design; it’s very me! 😉
I like it. I really like the graphics. Woman with power tools..nice! That said the shade of green isn’t my favorite. That is just a picky personal preference though. Looks nice and clean and sharp. Good job!
I love the green! LOL….it is a personal choice. And my favorite it the me-look-a-like with the tools…we are building our house DIY, power tools are usually on the agenda but only with my Blackberry in tow. 😉
Thanks for the comment; I appreciate the feedback. 🙂
I am a huge fan of pigs, so you have my vote for the blog design! Do you like wordpress from your first impression?
Thanks! 🙂 I do like WordPress; I’m learning more features each day but overall it was pretty easy to learn.
